gauge based on recently completed Beaubourg is 15 st/28 rows … making size 38-1/2 to be about 41” (7-1/2” of ease)
2-23-14 - casting on so I have a project with purl stitches (and some lace)
3-14-14 - this got no attention for a couple of weeks (while I finished those mitts and Sundry), but I’m into it now. the back is done and I’m about 1/3 through the front.
3-20-14 - finished the arm increases on the front; into my 7th ball and thinking I’m going to need another skein!
4-4-14 - ugh…dragging my feet to get this done - but now it’s time if I want to wear it to Stitches on the 10th! I finished knitting the front last week and just yesterday finished the seams and neck and armbands. need to weave in ends and block. maybe this weekend?
4-5-14 - finally done! still wet (and note to self - with heavy downpours it took almost 3 days to dry).
left shoulder stitches on a holder and used 3-needle bind-off to seam. for the neck, picked up 1:2 on the vertical edges and 1:1 on the horizontal. for the arms, picked up 4:5 (about 86 stitches total). bound-off in ribbing with a moderately snug tension. want the edges to hold their shape. also, used a regular long-tail cast-on for the body pieces (again, want the piece to hold its shape). worked side seams with needlepoint silk thread.
