Ok, apparently I met gauge with size 4 needles, yikes!

Added extra length, so making a note to remember to cast on the extra stitches for the second part.

I thought that crochet cast on would be tighter, so I tried to do it loose, but it was definetly too loose, so next time go down another hook size or try to do the cast on tight. I used the same size hook as needles for the body of the cardigan, 3.5 mm

Ok, frogging the right front, the croceht cast on makes it look flared and will bother me every time I look at it. And even though I cast off the left front with a bigger needle, I will redo the cast off since it is too tight, both bottom pictures are of the fronts and show the difference that a loose cast on and a tight cast off can make, the second pic from the bottom shows how the stitch count is right and matches far from the edges.

And in case anyone wonders, the crochet cast on can be unraveled one stitch at a time, third pic from the bottom.

I am so glad that I redid the right front, now the sides do match.

Pics are unblocked, that is why the sides look open, but I know that after a few minutes of wear they will look like that again, lol.
