Farewell gift for the woman who has cared for my son for the past two and a half years. He is starting preschool in two weeks!

UPDATE: I am mad at myself for not getting a photo of Susan in it. She looked so beautiful in her garden, the colors were perfect (my son picked out the yarn from my stash.) My good friend heidijane gave me the yarn and I always thought it was way too pretty for socks.

This will be my go to pattern for any sock yarn that’s too good for socks.

I left off the edging because I ran out of yarn and time, but I will make another one with.

I couldn’t find my new Disney Princess blocking squares (my son was building a pirate fort or something with them), so I had to improvise. May I present: bungee blocking! strung wires through the edges, hung from the basement line, then stretched out the wires using bungee cords. I know, we have a very charming toilet. And we need to fix that wall. But otherwise, it worked great!

Most importantly, she loved it, and it was a nice way to say farewell to the woman who has cared for my son since he was 18 months old. Lots of tears, sweet tears.
