Notes

Head
Rnd 11: Rep 4 times
Rnd 12: Rep 4 times
Rnd 13: Rep 4 times

Ears (make 2)
At the end, add 4 sc’s and then sl.st.

Neck
Do not pick up stitches to begin. Make as a separate piece. Then stuff and attach to head and body so placement is not tilted or in the wrong place.
Rnd 6: 2inc’s, not 1
Rnd 8: 2inc’s, not 1

1/27/15 update: Pick up stitches next time. I had a tougher time trying to find a good place to attach the neck and head.

Back Feet
When working the rows, at end of rows, ch 1, turn, and sc into first stitch, not 2nd stitch (per Narelle @Nerdy Knitter FB page)
When to turn is confusing because by following the directions, both times we end up turning right at the end of Rnd 28. I turned first at the end of Rnd 27 for the first leg and then at the end of Rnd 28 for the second leg.

Though not specified in the pattern, I think that we choose whether to make the open wings or the closed wings. The pictures do not show all of them on one pony; rather, I saw one person made closed wings and the others all made open wings.

Open Wings
Fasten off each feather before making the rest. Use tails of feathers to close gaps when feathers are combined to form the wings.

To connect feathers:
Wing 1:
Rnd 1: sc around half -1 st; connect #2, sc around; continue to sc in remaining sts of #1
Do the same for the other feathers: sc half -1 st, connect new feather, and complete the rest of the wing.
Wing 2:
Rnd 1: sc around half +1 st; connect #2, sc around; continue to sc in remaining sts of #1
Do the same for the other feathers: sc half +1 st, connect new feather, and complete the rest of the wing.

1/27/15: I have to add more notes for myself, but it’s finished! Due to my having used an F hook, this pony turned out much smaller than the first one I made, Pinkie Pie. I may use the same hook I used for Pinkie Pie when I make the other Rainbow Dash. I can’t leave my niece without her own Rainbow Dash. Oh! APPLY FABRIC GLUE TO FELT BEFORE CUTTING SO IT’S FIRMER FOR NARROW PORTIONS. That’s a note for myself. I accidentally learned this as I was temporarily gluing the felt pieces together in order to sew them with invisible thread. Assemble the wings differently next time. Make the eyes bigger.
