I liked the colour of Stylecraft’s Mocha, as it reminded me of wet sand. This was my starting point for my bag. I knitted the sand and I have not done any freeform knitting for over a year!

The shells were a necklace found in a charity shop but they didn’t look right just stitched in place, so I crocheted a cover for them.+-

The handle is made from a soft garden tie (doubled) with a crocheted cover. I am not sure how this will stand up to use but I have an alternative plan, which is a piece of plastic tubing usually used in wine/beer making.
