This is another sample knit for Yarnia. We carry a lot of Stephen West’s patterns so it will be nice to have one on display in the store.

I got 85% through the bind off then ran out of yarn so I tinked back and bound off with the contrasting color.

I loved the color of this yarn, I built it all around this one strand of silk yarn (the one giving the orange yarn all the shine), but when I washed the project before blocking it (room temperature water, Soak wash) ALL of the dye ran out of the silk (I mean ALL) and now it’s just a boring beige-y brown and the project is a lot more muted than it once was. The pictures before and after blocking are very accurate color representations…

This project is kind of a fiber mish-mash, between the two yarns it contains silk, alpaca, wool, cotton, and rayon.

If I wasn’t a law student (and prone to distraction via spinning or other projects) this would have knit much quicker, the garter stitch body is a blessing for reading and knitting at the same time. If only I could master the art of knitting and taking notes…
