This is a really cute project. I’m making it for my brother who is going to be a freshman at Portland State University this fall. I don’t know if he’ll use them but I really want to send him off with something hand knit. I finished the first one already they only take about 2 hours each. I did two things different on this one: 1) left off crochet loop in the corner 2) stranded the lettering instead of adding it on later by duplicate stitch. It was a little tricky stranding on the purl side but I managed. Pictures to come once I can convince someone to take some for me.

Finished these at 1:30 in the morning while watching the Alien movies with my brother in the last few days before we both go off to school (him for his freshman year, me for my senior). Adam likes them a lot more than I thought he would. I thought he would think they were a silly little gift and would maybe use them with a sheepish explanation to his roommate that his sister is a yarn nut… but her really likes them and has asked me many times when I’ll be done and if I’ll replace them when they wear out. So now they’re done and ready for him to pack away on the 11th when we both leave.
