Notes

I was really sad because I thought that I was going to be able to make both gloves with just one skein of yarn but i ran out about two thirds of the way through the mitten flap. Luckily the yarn was originally meant for socks so I had three balls but it would have been cool if it hand turned out to be a one skein project. Maybe if i were making them for someone with reasonably sized hands instead of gigantic man hands it would have only taken one skein. I really didn’t like this yarn when I saw it online but it was a masculine color and on clearance so I ordered it… When it got here I didn’t really like the way it look on the skein either. (But my guess that it was “masculine” turned out to be right when my brother came and looked over my shoulder and said, “wow that’s the coolest yarn ever, can you make my gloves out of that?”… Bingo!) As I knit with it it started to grow on me. I really like how the twisted colors make the darker color land on top sometimes and sometimes it’s the lighter color. In the picture, they are being modeled by Andrew (who also has giant man hands and who is now also requesting a pair…) before I ship them off the Adam who is a freshman in Portland, OR
