Notes

This may seem like it has taken a long time, but the actual amount of time working on it has been surprisingly short. I love this project because it is compact due to the lace weight yarn and can be smooshed into my backpack and taken to school in the unlikely event that I ever find myself with nothing to do. I had been racking my brain for something to do with this yarn since the drastic color variations make it unsuitable for most lace. Then someone from Lawrence started making a Clapotis and it put the idea in my head. I’d been wanting to start one ever since, but was under the delusion that I needed to get some other projects finished first… Once those crazy feelings cleared up I cast on.

It’s a very simple pattern. I futzed with the million stitch markers for a while, but eventually just started purling the stitches that were supposed to be dropped as many ravelers have suggested. I used the same stitch count, but much smaller needles, and (the equivalent of) fingering instead of worsted weight yarn so I think my in much narrower than a “real” clapotis but I like it more as a wide scarf than a full on shawl.

This grew so much during blocking. I thought it would be about 5’6’’ x 1’ but it ended up being over 6’ long and 18” wide.
