This is the latest silly hat for my brother. He saw a similar hat on the internet and started begging me for a replica round the time of the 2009 sock summit. I told him if he went with me to sock summit I would knit him one. Clearly I’ve been unredeemingly slow at holding up my end of the bargain.

Love the yarn, smooth with great stitch definition. I did get pretty sick of the Pepto-pink color after a while though. Not the most fun project. I’m glad to be done with it.

Used the modifications from many other ravelers to turn this into a “Zoidberg” hat. Followed the pattern to specification except that instead of adding the Jack Skellington smile, I picked up 48 stitches (24 on top, 24 on bottom) then knit for about an inch. Then knit as you would for glove fingers on six stitches at a time. Knit 15 rows for each tentacle then did two rounds of k2tog and fastened off.
