Notes

Made this to wear to a friend’s wedding. Finished the night before the wedding. Good timing. The yarn is not at all soft to work with. It feels like twine in your hand. If I had had time, I would have pre-washed it to soften it up a bit.

The pattern is not very fun to knit, but the end result looks very good. First you knit a long rectangle of 21” of ribbing. Then you knit three strips of lace, one to go around the body and one for each arm. Then you fold the rectangle and sew a few seams, then you sew each long strip of lace to the body. I think it’s quite a lot of sewing.

The pattern is also not at all helpful when it comes to gauge. It says “20 sts and 24 rows = 4” in 2x2 rib, slightly stretched”… there’s no gauge given for the lace. Um WTF does “slightly stretched” mean? How do you measure that?

I decided to knit the smaller size even though I have a 40” bust because I tend to knit loose and I’m using hemp yarn which can stretch and sag. I think it hangs really well on me.
