Notes

Loved the idea of this pattern much more than the pattern itself. I think the concept of mixing crochet (or knitting) and fabric is really cool. I decided to make this a sundress rather than a babydoll top (mostly because babydoll tops make me look 100% pregnant) I didn’t get the dress pattern from anywhere, it was one of those hold-it-up-to-my-body-and-say-’that-looks-about-right’-type-things.

The sizing is totally wrong. My gauge was SMALLER than required and my top still came out 4” big around than it was supposed to. LAME. As I was not in the mood to undo all my crocheting and make a smaller size, a quick trip through the serger fixes everything. Yes, it does have a seam now, but since it’s with the seamed fabric i think it looks just fine.

To cinch in the waist and combat 9-months-pregnant-look I chained three long chains then braided them together for a waist tie. All in all I love the result. I’m not calling it finished yet though because I want to buy some lace to trim the bottom with.

ETA: Lace found, dress complete. Despite all the flaws in the pattern, I really like the finished product.

This will be on display in Yarnia probably as early as next week so you should stop by and check it out.
