Notes

Designed this hat for Ryan who is a bit picky about what is “manly.” It’s pretty easy (the crown shaping takes a bit of thought) but the it’s one of those great looks-trickier-than-it-is patterns.

The yarn I used is super soft, I was surprised with the quality given that it’s lion brand yarn. It’s very annoying to me though that it only comes in 87 yard ball. That meant for this hat I had to join 3 balls… that’s way too many ends for a hat. I’m strongly of the opinion that, unless there’s colorwork involved, hats should have 2 ends, that’s it. It’s also sort of spendy yarn when you factor in that a hat takes three balls. Still it’s black and it’s soft which were two of Ryan’s big concerns.
