I just finished my Swallowtail shawl yesterday and I have to finish Andrew’s sweater before I will let myself buy more yarn but I didn’t want to go back to another big project right away so I whipped up this adorable hat this afternoon. It took about 3 hours to make including winding the yarn from a hank to a ball.

I don’t know what kind of yarn this is. It was given to me by Andrew’s sister who knits some but didn’t like the color. This probably means that it was very expensive yarn. It’s tweedy with flecks of red blue and yellow. It’s also extremely soft. I was able to felt a scrap so I know it’s animal fiber, my guess would be merino wool based on the extreme softness.
