A very clearly written pattern! Seriously faultless!

I knitted my first Daffodil with great zeal and energy but halfway through had to stop. The reason, I am afraid to admit openly, was a tension problem. My gauge which should have been 22.5 stitches over 10cm ended up being around 24.5. I sighed, wished for an easy alternative to the inevitable truth, and started all over again using 3.5 mm needles instead of the suggested 3mm ones. I knitted this whilst sitting under apple trees in blossom and over Easter. It was slower than it should have been because I was tireder than usual. The funny conclusion I have reached now it’s finished is that although it fits me like a glove (thankfully) I would have been fine wearing my original version with a tighter tension. It would have made for a closer fit. I love the name of this pattern with its tribute to those cheerful spring flowers. I am slightly addicted to Rowan Felted Tweed although I do find it a little slippery on my circular needles!
