I will always proclaim my enthusiasm for Dani Sunshine’s adorable patterns. And now I will be professing my undying adoration for Madelinetosh Tosh’s colourway Holi Festival. Just imagine the prettiest, cheeriest colours in Merino DK; well, that’s one of my ideas of Heaven.

I finished knitting this sweet hat on Christmas Day. It’s quick and simple. I opted for the smallest size despite the fact Angélique’s head is around 20” instead of 18-19”. Each hat I have knit this past year has been a little on the large size. I blocked this hat agressively - how cruel of me - and it fits her perfectly. Phew! I added an inch in length once the chevron pattern was completed and made the pom pom in the main colour rather than contrasting colour as Dani suggests.

I realise the chevron stripes do not stand out too clearly but I really wanted to make something fairly delicate; the colour of the marzipan Calisson from Provence in the last picture!
