Notes

Based on Tone’s version because I wanted bigger squares:

  • Cast on 144, aiming for 30” x 30”
  • 10 st of seed stitch on either side for the border
  • Squares are 10 st across x 12 st

The only reason this took me so long to finish was because I had a DRAMATIC TIME FINDING THIS YARN. I only had one skein to start with because I figured I would just pick up more later, but then Michaels/Hobby Lobby/everywhere stopped carrying it and I had to buy from someone on Ravelry. Sidenote: I’m also making a Baby Block Quilt and had the same problem with Sugar n’ Creme “Velvet Orchid”. LESSON LEARNED: ALWAYS BUY THE AMOUNT YOU NEED AT ONE TIME, SELF. Jeez.

But anyway! This is for a friend and I think she’s going to like it. Her nursery theme is ‘Enchanted Forest’ and I love the color of this yarn for that-- in certain lights it can look anywhere from plain brown to purply-brown-silver. It came out a couple inches shorter than I wanted because I didn’t have time to order another skein (27” x 26”), but overall I’m pretty happy with it. I think it’ll be good for a carseat or stroller.

Will take another picture when everything is all packaged together!
