6/17 I really wanted to make this sweater but I just don’t like this color near my face and skin in general. The color is just toooooo close to my coloring. I do love this yarn and plan to use it when I decide to attack this sweater again…just in a different color. I’m thinkin’ purple.
Decided this will be the perfect main color for my future afghan plans to make Stephen West’s Garter Squish. =)
4/9 Was working away on my sleeve and then my stitches didn’t add up. hmmmmmmm…not sure what’s going on.
4/5 Soooo making two sleeves at a time was not working for me at allllll. I just didn’t feel like I was making much progress when I was working on them this way. Plus it really wasn’t enjoyable trying to manage all of the yarn and I just put up a mental block about it. Now that I’m working on one sleeve at a time things are moving much smoother and faster. Got all the way up to the sleeve cap for one sleeve in a single afternoon. =)
3/2 Finnnnnally cast on the sleeves for this bad boy during the Oscars. I decided to do the sleeves first and two at a time just to get them out of the way. I can just see me being done with the whole body of the sweater and then procrastinating on the sleeves if I don’t do them first. After the sleeves, the back and then the two front pieces.
I have to say that I enjoy working with this yarn. It’s a lot like LB Wool-Ease which I enjoy working with also.
Yeah!!!
2/17 Notice the two swatch photos. Let’s just say that it helps to read gauge instructions correctly. The gauge for this sweater (in the book at least) is 14 stitches per 4 inches - not 4 stitches per inch. Just sayin’. Correct gauge actually takes needle size pattern calls for. Incorrect guage takes US 7’s (can we say three sizes smaller?). Now I can finally start this dang thing.
2/12 All caked up and ready for swatching! This pattern calls for US 10’s but I know better - that will come out waaaaay over gauge. I’m going to start swatching at US 9’s and go from there. My goal is to come up a little tiny bit over gauge and then make the size 39. That should fit perfectly!
This yarn is amazaballs. Can’t wait to dig into this project!!!
