We have a square shawl KAL at hobbykrok1.no in May.
Posted the June FO thread in 10 shawls in 2010 group.
Did strugle a bit with the beginning - but has 2,4,2 stitches on 3 needles the first few rounds and changed to four needles. Went great!
Remember to place the yo’s before the A at row 24!! I missed all the yo’s and couldn’t get row 26 to work. But after I replced the yo’s everything lines up perfectly. Moved all markers 2 stitches.
200 stitches on the needle and finished row 30 (begin at row 31)
Next time when I knit this (!) I will most definitely place a lifeline after row 46!!! Row 47 i hell!!!! And I do think I will have to place 2 stitches from left needle to right needle on the start of row 47 otherwise I cannot see the stiches line up with the rest.
Inserted lifeline after row 71 (start 72) but after a while my lifeline unraveled hihi. See picture. didn’t need it after all :)
Having abit trouble with row 78. It starts with k5, and then repeats, ends with k2. But I don’t understand why I have to move marker on this row…
I also asked Mmario about the “move to marker” on row 78 - don’t be bothered - just make sure the previous row starts with a knit stitch.
Row 79 and all other odd rows are charted as for the entire round! Would have been much easier to just say:
k1, yo knit to next marker and place a yo, then slip marker and - repeat for the next 3 “sides”.
The green triangles in the pattern does not mean anything. Just ignore them.
I cannot stress enough how fun this is to knit! And it really isn’t that hard! Loving not to purl!
I have counted and counted for row 110. I have 121x4 stitches and by chart I need 120 - but after checking 121 is correct.
Have to check the other file on armada and see if I have the old version.
Okey. What is the correct version? is it the one with / and knit 3 at the beginning, or the one with k3 at the start of row 110. /3 has a total of 121 stitches but doesn’t make sense for the yo k3 yo, and the version with k3 has only 120 stitches. I think i will just knit the last stitch (that isn’t charted)… and go for the verson with only K3 at row 110
And WHY didn’t I look at the written instructions??? it does say to knit the last stitch (not charted)
110) K3; (N, k2, o, k3, o, (skp, o) x 2; k2, N, k2) x 6; N, k2, o, k3, (yo, skp) x3, skp, k
Another issue. Following the chart row 138 doesn’t line up. Knitted 5 stitches instead of 4 and started the repeats. Went great.
From row 138 the chart isn’t correct. I don’t want to tink back or frog - but if I do knit this again I will “wing it” a bit more in the corners to get the pattern all the way.
This is what I did - but I would have done it a bit different.
row 138: knit 5 - pattern repeats - knit 3
Row 140: Knit 6 - pattern repeats - knit 4
Row 142: knit 7 - pattern repeat - last repeat ends with /
Row 144: knit 7 and to together - knit repeats but end with an “A” stitch directly after a yo.
ROW 146 seem to be on track after I have knitted as I have.
Used 247 grams of yarn. And it took me 2 hours to bind off :) And another 1.5 hour to block with thousands pins and no blocking wire :)
Measures 120 cm each side.
ETA October:
At the Mmario yahoo group errata for the 138 row
On row138 the pattern didn’t add up. Found this correction on the Yahoo group:

Row 140:

Row 150:
