This top makes me happy when I wear it ^_^ A little tight for the buttons, particularly at the bottom edge, but definitely what I was trying to create.

Blocked, looking for buttons. Grew a bit during blocking but mostly grew vertically which made the back look much nicer (was rolling up a bit previously).

Re-knit the neckline, didn’t follow pattern as wasn’t sure how to do so with the mods made so far, turned out messy the first time, but re-did and now looking much neater, still quite a wide neck though. I think I need to understand more about sweater construction if improvising in future.

Finished the sleeves. Trying bust dart increases to increase the size gradually after the waste to probably nearer the 34.5 size.
14 Jan 2013
Started the sleeves, doing long sleeves, so cast on 38, did 3 inches of garter, then and gradually increased in st-st to 68.

Loving the honey bee pattern, very easy to memorise and entertaining. It’s as fun as knitting a shawl but more easily done on the go.
28 Aug 2012
Cast on 180 sts with 6 rows garter
Setup: A (bee) A, 36, A (bee A bee A bee) A, 36, A, (bee) A = 180
sts for 28 size
6, (12) 6, 36, 6 (12, 6, 12, 6, 12) 6, 36, 6 (12) 6 = 180
Size was 34.5 too big, so will try size 28 for the lower edge, then might go up a size after waist.
Note after top complete: this size was probably one too small, should have gone with size 33 for the cast on
sts for 34.5 size
6, (12 6 12) 6, 39, 6 (12, 6, 12, 6, 12) 6, 39, 6 (12, 6, 12), 6 = 222

Swatched honeybee pattern twice and went down to needle size 3.25mm. Gets the horizontal measurements but not sure I understand the vertical swatch measurements as mine is about 1/2 what it should be if I’m reading it right. Assuming pattern will grow quite a bit when blocked.

Swatching
Would make full length and less lace panels like lavanya’s lovely one.
My Amelia was 34 size, so trying 34.5 size for this.
