13 Nov: after a protracted rest, I picked this up again last night and added 4000 stitches to it. Still a long way to go, though! Have done 59 of 96 rows in this section. Still need to decide whether or not to purchase further yarn supplies. 4th plate about 1/2 used.
28 Oct: didn’t manage to finish the third plate but almost got there. Knitted like fury last night and now find myself halfway through the 576 stitch section.
27 Oct: picked this up again after a long weekend. Aiming to get the third plate finished today.
23rd - round 123. 576 stitches on needle and 32,958 stitches knitted. Third plate joined in.
22nd - didn’t get much knitting done yesterday but did manage to get into the 576 stitch section, though only one row of that done after the increase row. 95 rounds to go at this level. Doesn’t soundmuch if you say it quickly.
21st - still on 288 section, on Row 35 and almost ready to join in the second plate. Broke the yarn once again last night, that makes 6 times…
So. I guess i’m 15% done! My spreadsheet tells me I am 12.5% done, so that means I need to scale back my plans for size on this blanket. I’ll knit in 2 more plates before deciding on the final configuration.
Second plate joined in at the end of Round 37 of this section.
20th Oct: still on 288 section - (round 10 of that) as didn’t find much knitting time yesterday. About halfway through first plate, so about 7% done then? Have broken the yarn 5 times so far - I’m spit-joining when the worst happens.
19th Oct : onward - 288 stitches on needle. How to calculate %age done, when I don’t know how far I plan to go? I have 6 plates - I guess each will represent 15% I’ll mark it off as I use them up.
18th Oct - cast on and 38 rounds completed
Poised to cast on on the next couple of days. I plan to whirl around this thing, Dervish-like, in pursuit of an early finish.
