Notes

I knit this shawl with yarn held doubled, which gave me about 660 yards of fingering-weight yarn. It’s a lovely soft merino that comes in wonderful heathered colors. One smart thing I did was to wind the yarn doubled, which made it easy to knit with.

It was a very pleasant knit! By time I’d used up about a third of the yarn, I had memorized the lace pattern. I planned to knit until the yarn ran out, which is exactly what I did. I read somewhere on Ravelry that when you think you have enough yarn for one more repeat plus the edging left, you do not. This shawl is a case in point.

I knit 14 repeats of the lace pattern and was only able to eke out 7 rows of the edging. However, I liked the idea of a straight rather than pointy edging, so I called it good. If you’re considering this shawl/yarn combo, I’d recommend going for 13 repeats.

Pre-blocked, it measures 55 x 24 inches.
