Cast on on Aug 12, 2023. (So fiddly! I hate the beginning.) I’m starting with the blue end of the yarn and am expecting that I won’t use the grey portion.

Sept 8, 2023: My gauge is 6.5 sts/inch and I’m planning to knit the adult small size. 104 stitches around.

Nov 15, 2023: Finished! I especially enjoyed the nice long stretch of knitting stockinette in the round and watching the stripes of color emerge.

I wanted to knit through the full rainbow and not use any of the gray. I didn’t weigh my yarn, but started the decreases when there were three stripes of color left before the gray - because the original increases took three stripes of color. This was very close to perfect; I have only a little bit the of the last blue yarn left.

My spouse saw the finished hat and immediately claimed it as hers. She wears it all the time!
