I actually started with half a skein I had laying around, then I went into the whole skein I had I don’t think it would have taken the whole skein of yarn had I just started with the new one. It is way smaller than I anticipated, but I had read other people’s notes and they said the same thing.
The edging was ok. I must have redone rows 5 and 6 3-4 times each because I would inevitably find a mistake while I was doing row 6 and there is no way to fudge it if you mess up. I do think there is an error in row 2 of the edging because when I was doing row 3 I did have to fudge a little because of a missing double crochet.

The picot finish ( row 7) took me a hot minute to figure out, but I wound up writing it out by hand on paper so I could separate each line and figure out what I needed to do. The thing that gave me the most issue was making the three cluster picots, but after I figured out it wanted me to connect it to the first picot ( the chain where I made the stitch to make the picot) it went much smoother.
