Started knitting on the plane - figuring a loose toque kind of hat: rib then braid detail with leftover colors, then loose berry stitch top - but - daughter wanted a headband, so cut the project short - and made a headband in time to visit the Cliffs of Mohar - where the wind blows hard and it can hail or rain in an instant….
Making her another, smaller, tighter - this one went to cousin sara and fits just fine!
To make:
Some rows of K2P2, then the braid using some leftover variegated, then some rows of K1P1 like seed stitch but doing 2 matching rows before switching to the opposite stitches, if you know what I mean. Some folks call it berry stitch, but that is used for a few different stitches…. Then finish off with a few rows of K1P1 rib with the knit stitches thru the back loop to snug it up to the head a bit…. I think.
Either side can be worn up or down -
