The cardigan won the First Place (blue ribbon) on the Knitting competition at the Prince William County Fair! I’m so very happy!

I decided to enter the cardigan to the Prince William County Fair of Virginia, and it won the first Place!! I was so so happy, after all that work! So worth it!
I could not believe it! I was my first time doing this and it was a great experience!

I love it! It came out great! I was so worried about the out come of blocking but the yarn responded just fine. I was able to obtain the length I wanted and is not curling!
I am so happy with the results that I might enter the cardigan to the Prince William County Fair.

Last night I finished the cardigan (finally) I was getting tired of looking at it!
I’m not sure how it came out yet, since is still blocking.

I finished the first half of my cardigan. It was so much fun to knit; the construction is so different to a regular cardigan that made knitting with fingering a lot more interesting.

I found this fabulous yarn at a great price! I took all 6 last skeins of yarn and the owner gave a 30% off! Sweet deal!
Today when I get home I will start this project!

I really like this pattern. I think it is a great design for first days of Fall. I just need to find the perfect yarn for it.
Techniques I’ve learned while making this pattern
Mastered short rows, wrap and turn. For this I watched a very interesting free video class online from Crafty http://www.craftsy.com/class/short-rows/96
Mastered grafting or sewing
Used mattress stitch (used on sleeves and sides). Great video to learn this technique here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvAS-HCWk9I
Used kitchener stitch (used on back and part of the sides). Great video to learn this way of seaming here http://www.knittinghelp.com/video/play/kitchener-stitch
Complementary great video to learn how to sew stitches going different ways here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IXlSwF3tWc
It was the first time for me making a cardigan in two separate halves using fingering yarn.
Today I can say that I really like the feeling of a fingering cardigan. It’s going to e great for this fall!
Happy knitting to you and my hugs!
