This is a great pattern for little baby socks, but it’s such a shame it’s only available in Swedish. I thought I would translate it so that more of you could enjoy knitting these lovely little socks!

Baby socks with rolled cuffs

To fit: 0-3 months (baby’s foot is about 8 cm long)
Needles: 3.5 mm DPNs and yarn to match the gauge below (I used DK weight)
Gauge: 20 st and 18 rows = 10 x 10 cm in garter stitch

Cast on 5 stitches on 3.5mm needles.

On the first row increase these stitches to 10 sts by knitting every stitch first through its front and then through its back loop. Continue in garter stitch for 34 rows = sole.

Knit 10 sts with your first DPN, pick up 17 sts along the first long side of the sole with the second DPN, 5 sts at the back of the sole with the third DPN and 17 stitches along the other long side with the fourth DPN. (49 stitches on needles) Join in a round.

Purl one round.

Continue in garter stitch for another 4 rounds. (Alternate knit and purl rounds when knitting in the round!)

Decrease round 1:
Needle 1: k2tog twice, k 2, k2tog twice
Needle 2: k2tog three times, k 11
Needle 3: k 5
Needle 4: k 11, k2tog three times

(39 sts left on needles)

Purl one round.

Decrease round 2:
Needle 1: k2tog, k 2, k2tog
Needle 2: k2tog twice, k 10
Needle 3: k 5
Needle 4: k 10, k2tog twice
(33 sts left on needles)

Purl one round.

Decrease round 2:
Needle 1: k2tog, k2tog
Needle 2: k2tog four times, k 4
Needle 3: k 5
Needle 4: k 4, k2tog four times
(23 sts left on needles)

Purl 22 stitches. Knit the next stitch together with the first stitch of the next round (decreasing one st). Then knit the next two stitches together and knit until the end of the round =21 stitches left.

Continue in stockinette stitch for 15 rounds. (=Knit every round)

Bind off all the stitches and weave in the ends.
