5/8/10 - sweater is blocking now. I’ll take some new pictures when it dries :)
24/07/10 -took some pictures but I need to block for length. Cute. Not overly excited about the neckline. I think I’m partial to v necks.
22/07/10 - so I’m working on the yoke now. I tried the sweater on tonight and I’m either thinking of knitting this for my daughter, or I’m not quite as small as I think I am. I hope aggressive blocking will help.
21/07/10 - finished one sleeve and I’ve knit it onto the sweater body. I also cast on tonight for the second sleeve. Like I wanted, I’ve only knit a 3/4 length sleeve, so on me, that’s about 10 inches. I started on the “skinny” part of the sleeve and so cast on 52 stitches, knit about 3 inches and started the pattern increases. And again, I did M1L and M1R increases instead of Kf&b.
20/07/10 - Power knitting, that’s what this is! I vow to have this done this week. If I keep knitting like a fool and avoid the brain damage that crazy amounts of stockingette stitch can induce, then, I might just do it too…
- So I added 2 inches to the length so far. I’ve done my waist decreases and now I’m starting my increases. Instead of doing the Kf&b, I’m doing a M1L and M1R. I’m planning on only increasing twice instead of the 4 times the pattern calls for. I have a small upper body and I don’t want a lot of excess material around the bussom area. The stripes are looking great (whew!) and I’ve been using a jogless jog technique found here. Works like a charm!
18/07/10 - I’m hoping the small fits properly. I’m also striping this sweater, I think maybe 4inch stripes. The purple is a bit vibrant and that makes me nervous, but I guess if it doesn’t work I can always rip and reknit.
I think I’ll add a few inches to the length of the body and do 3/4 length sleeves. I’m also going to keep a close eye on the neckline. Many projects have gargantuan necklines and some are too small.
