27 July - all done including the buttons! I’m terrible at sewing on buttons in a timely manner but managed this time. This is a really lovely pattern with a great neckline for bubbas and the set in sleeves reduce some of the bulk. They were nicely proportioned and easy to set in.

The only thing I changed about this pattern is to knit it wrong side ‘out’ so that the resting rows are knit rows. I started the sleeve increases on the 4th row as a result. If i was less sleep deprived I would have knit the sleeves in the round with a purl seam stitch. Next time I would seam the sleeves to the armhole before setting them in too, as there’s no side seam on the body.

I’m happy to finally have found the right pattern for this lovely yarn too after a few false starts!

15 Julyish - finishing this off so little K can wear it for a little while while we are still in the winter. I thought it might be too big still (it’s slightly longer than written due to gauge) but it looks like it’s going to be perfect.

1 June - No, I cannot. At least, not while sleeping/remaining sane/not neglecting infant son. But I have made lots of progress - joined the shoulders, and picked up for the buttonband. Will pop it down for a moment now to wrap up some socks.

28 May - maybe I can finish this before the 31st if i knit fast enough.

25 May - well, i tried to modify the sleeve to be knit in the round, but failed miserably. Clearly that is beyond my capacity at the moment. Will start again after a couple of palate cleansing (and more achievable) hats.

Don’t think this will actually get done in May, but it’s a good nudge to start.
