Notes

I made the Rippled Baby Blanket for my friends’ impending baby, and I wanted to make sure their two-year-old son didn’t feel left out. Another friend suggested making him a stuffed snake, and that seemed like a perfect use for the leftover yarn from the blanket.

This is basically a toe-up sock with some extra shaping. I did a short-row toe, decreased a little at the base of the head, and then knit a long tube until I felt it was the right time to start decreasing for the tail.

The snake is stuffed with bamboo fiber that I picked up at Joann Fabrics. I knit on the tongue and sewed on the eyes with scraps of wool leftover from other projects.

I became so attached to the snake that I’m planning to make another for me with the blanket yarn I still have left. Since I’m all grown up, I’ll probably stuff mine with beans and give it button eyes.
