In case people are checking here: Most of the yarn is Caron Simply Soft (though not all). I’ll list colours (and hook swaps) at the end.

The stars are beads. I strung them on, and then crocheted them in. After I fiddled so that they were on the front and so that they didn’t move easy. It’s hard to stitch tight with beads - they don’t bend. :D

The stars seem to get everyone. :) Strung on the yarn. I used a random number generator to decide where to place them, because if I did it “random” in my head there would have been a pattern of some sort - or spaced more regularly. I think I did between 5-24 for the petal areas, and where there were fewer stitches it was closer to 2-12. I counted chains, but would fudge it so it was on a stitch. In the trebles, I would make sure it wasn’t the same yarn-over pull-through as the last one. If I was stitching over one (as on a sc), I would make sure it was at the front, and make sure it was still in the front after the stitch was done. I hope that helps!

Just layed her out to see if I needed to worry about the part 8 hook increase. Looked fine after row 61, and 62, but after 63, I can see the tightness starting. I also did the hook increase for part 4. So, I’m heading into a bigger hook now.

July 7
Went to the new Michael’s (there’s one close to me now! Woot!) and took a look through their beading stuff AND FOUND THE BEADS AGAIN! Now I can stop worrying that night will come and I’ll run out of beads :) Just yarn… :D

July 23
Took pics today - wanted to see how the sunset worked out, and needed a bit of a border, so worked up the next couple of colours and almost finished part 14. I think I’ll be needing to figure out a few more rows after we’re done the universe, because I don’t think I’ll have enough for my ideas. Hmmmmmmmmmm…

Aug 3
Ran out of black - gotta pause until I get some more. Stopped in the middle of part 18, row 111.
***
Aug 24
Stopped on 112 - Want to decide on a border (if a border) and incorporate it in to 113 - especially since I don’t think I want to back post. Hmmm thoughts…

Ended with a shellish border that I half finished because I liked how it looked RIGHT NOW. That I got from the book “Exquisite Trims in Thread Crochet”.

09-06-2017

It’s been nearly two years since I’ve finished?? Woah. lol Just wanted to say the beads haven’t held up well :( If I want to do this again, I need to find better (metal?) beads or maybe make it a wall hanging or something.
