I do not have a good track record with finishing mittens. I am hoping the name of this project will help change that.

Modified these quite a bit, but love the stitch pattern! CO 26 with size 7’s, then switching to 8’s. Increased to 32 sts for hand. Shifted thumb 1 stitch palmward. Put 8 sts on holder for thumb. Picked up 6 for 14 thumb sts total. Knit to end of thumb and k2tog around, then closed. Knit to end of pinkie and then began decreasing 4 sts like for a sock toe. Decreased every other row twice, then every row 4x. Kitchenered 8 sts together.

Gauge on 8’s: 4 sts/inch, 6 rnds/inch
Mitten measurements:
6.5” circumference cuff
2.5” long cuff
7.5” circumference above thumb
8.5” circumference base of thumb
2.5” top of cuff to thumb divide
10” long whole mitten
7” top of cuff to top of mitten
4.5” thumb divide to top of mitten
1.5” decrease point to top of mittn\en

Hand measurements:
7” circumference above thumb
9” circumference at base of thumb
6.5” circumference wrist
2” length from wrist to thumb crook
7” length from wrist to tip of middle finger
