Notes

This was such a fun crochet project! It really was a “happy throw” to make. It washed up nicely and is super soft and snuggly. The pattern is easy to follow and well written; no schematics were included. There are a lot of ends to weave in, but the color changes are definitely worth it.

If I make this pattern again I’ll probably use a smaller hook so my stitches are tighter. I also probably won’t use Knit Picks Brava Worsted acrylic yarn again. When I first ordered all of the colors the yarn was very soft and not harsh and squeaky at all. But, I had to order another ball of white after I ran out and when this ball arrived it didn’t feel anything like the original yarn that I started with. It felt very much like old school acrylic and actually squeaked on my hook as I finished up the blanket.

Another note I’d like to share is that the pattern called for 2 balls of the main color and I ended up needing more like 2 1/2 balls of the main color. Not sure if that was because my guage was looser or if the yarn I was using came in smaller balls, but next time around I’ll pay more attention to yardage up front.

Overall this was a great project and one that I may definitely make again!
