UPDATE: The picture is just a quickie to share that the scarf is finished. I still need to soak/block it. But, I’m so excited with how it turned out!!! I think my mom is really going to love it. : )

I originally was going to use a new pattern that I’d purchased, but had a bit of trouble getting started with that pattern on December 1st. Since this was going to be a Christmas gift, and I’m a slow knitter, I decided to improvise and cast on something basic.

I’m alternating knits and purls to make a modified woven pattern and I’m also alternating between the blue and purple yarn every 8 rows so that the scarf is striped. I’m making some notes as I go along in case this turns out to be cute enough of a pattern to share! : )
