This was a hard project to complete. I wasn’t familiar with the pattern stitch after the ribbing was complete, but I had help getting started while I was at a retreat with lots of knitting friends. After leaving the retreat in February I put the project aside and didn’t pick it back up until September. I had to do the decreases in an improvised fashion, which didn’t look much like the pattern anymore, but I was able to finish the hat and it looks ok.

I’d like to try this project again when I have more knitting experience. It really is a beautiful knitted fabric that’s so lofty, stretchy and squishy when done correctly.
