Notes

This is a really quick little “A” lined dress that uses the lovely “V” stitch. I’ve made this in Size 26, and it’s listed for Sizes 24, 26 and 29, (so ages 3 - 10).

You can quickly work through the top bit, which starts around the hip and moved to the neckline. This is important to note, as when I started, I got a larger width, and was worried that it’d be larger than needed.

The ruffles are the star of this cute dress. (last 2 photos show the ruffles in detail)
First row of ruffles are easy enough. For the next row, I altered the first line by going into the picot of Round 4 (as suggested) from the under (back)side of garment, and then did just a ch-5 till the next picot (not doing the picot in this first round). I then did Rounds 1-6. I guess depending on the similarity of yarn, you could do just Rounds 2-6 as well, so that length of garment is not compromised. (Yarn I’ve used for the 2nd ruffle, though supposedly of same weight, was a tad thinner/finer , so I could get all 6 rows in and still have same ruffle widths)

I also did only 2 rows of ruffles as against 4, as the lil girl I’m making this for is small.

Matched gauge perfectly.

Would put this down as advanced beginner/intermediate skill level only due to the ruffles.
