Finally, writing up my notes about the cardigan. It was actually a pretty fast knit, if not terribly exciting. I loved everything stripey, so I really liked the different coloured stripes I chose. The baltic bled a little bit into the antler, which is pretty disappointing, but I made peace with it and love my cardigan anyway. I figured out the issue with the collar - I had initially picked up too few stitches. Every time I would knit the band it would pull the fabric up so that I didn’t drape nicely. I finally figured this out on my fifth go at the collar and had no issues once I actually had the right number of stitches.
I wore my cardigan the day after Vogue Knitting Live in Seattle, and happened to run into the lovely Susan B. Anderson while shopping at Tolt Yarn. It was a true fangirl moment!
Pic 2: Modelled by my daughter. This project is this close to being finished, but I got hung up on the collar ribbing. After all was said and done, the bottom of the ribbing pulled up at each edge. I tried to block it out, which didn’t work. Need to rip it all back and sort it out, but needed to put down the project and walk away for a bit.
Ok, this is getting ridiculous. I ripped out the collar and knit it again, this time with a stockinette collar. It really rolls a lot, which I’m not a huge fan of. Plus, I still find that it’s pulling up a bit at the corner. After more consideration, I’m thinking of ripping it back again, picking up even more stitches around the collar and knitting a garter stitch collar. It’s frustrating because it’s so close, but I know that I won’t be happy with it if I leave it as is.
