I loved the pattern so much, just needed to do it again while actually having my stash around. So I dove in and decided on some Alpaca Cotton by Rowan.
The shawl turns out waaaaaaaay bigger than the first one, despite being knitted on the exact same needles. It’s also a lot fluffier and super light - plus I think the felt-ish touch of the Alpaca Cotton will make the shawl look great for much longer.
Now to my tweaks and changes:
I think I followed the directions all the way to the bind-off. Here I figured that a pink i-cord would look really girly (and my bro’s gf is your girly girly par excellance)
Then I crocheted colorful scrap yarns to some of the holes, and added a tassel to the bottom edge.
Seeing the final result, I might have to go for a third time Campside.
It really is the perfect gift knit - easy to just knit while watching tv / riding a train or whatever, and you can personalize it a lot with just tiny changes.
Recipient is very happy with it, and I guess it will see a lot of London…
