This was an experiment knitting from French instructions. It did work well. There are English instructions but they were probably written by someone who doesn’t have English as their first language. They were almost worse than the French. It was helpful to use a French-English knitting term dictionary also.
I did change the pattern. I knitted the bands on the legs first instead of knitting them in afterwards. I also added a 2 stitch garter edge on the openings of the front so that they’d would lay flat.
