2012
Jan 16th - This is finally finished.
But, oh, for the long story….beginning with yesterday. On a roadtrip to Newmarket, ON to visit Unwind Yarn House, I had brought this knitting along to finish up the bind-off…but at some point when we parked the car, I kicked it out of the car into the gutter ..on a sort of rainy day. Then I didn’t notice it was missing until we left town…so we drove back in a panic - luckily..it was still there. Phew…
BUT, in even bigger news…this shawl took on a whole new life. As part of the lace pattern, there is a section in which you increase, and then decrease…repetitively. However, I am pretty sure it was one night at SnB when the whole thing went awry and I just increased and increased…..and I started to feel like..’wow, these rows take forever’ then I noticed my yarn (a really generous skein) was getting a lot less than I thought it should. So, as it turned out …I had not been decreasing and I now had over a thousand stitches along the bottom of this shawl. But this actually was a happy accident - I continued along..and then cast off with a black trim around the shawl and the result was a beautiful ruffle - so I am really happy with how this shawl turned out - it is not at all what it was intended but I love how it took on it’s own life.
2011
September 20 - I am still working on this from time to time but each row of the lace takes so long that I kind of find it daunting so it only gets worked on in bits.
2010
October 25 - Not much time to work on this - still working on the garter increase rows of the triangle.
Sept 24 - Got a start on this and I am about half way through the triangle to get things started. The yarn is knitting up beautifully and is the perfect yarn to work with in Autumn.
