Mods to this pattern - I made the sleeves a bit longer - did 4 rows of garter stitch and 8 rows stocking stitch. Which means the sleeve falls mid upper arm rather than a cap.

The twisting of the neck was a real pain, my husband did it in the end as I lost my temper. He’s not actually sure how he did it. But it looks fine so I’m not changing it.
