Notes

Lovely pattern and lovely yarn. I do like Sublime yarns, and this is no exception. It feels a little warmer and softer than ordinary cotton - similar to brushed cotton - but still has a nice, crisp appearance. I think it’s ideal for a baby hat as it will be non-itchy and washable.

I made a couple of very small changes to the pattern…

  1. I knitted an extra round of plain blue before starting the snowflake pattern, just for aesthetic reasons.

  2. I picked up the stitches for the ear flaps directly from the brim, rather than knitting these separately and then sewing them onto the hat.

Microboy is 4-months-old in these pictures and I think the hat should fit him until he is at least 6 months (until after christmas, I’d say). In the meantime I think I will make some matching mittens…
