I have been asked a few times to write up the pattern. However, I cannot do this because
a) it is based on a paid pattern that is not mine,
b) there is already a pattern available that gives similar results (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/swingy-hitchhiker - I haven’t used or even read it, but I found the pictures very inspiring)

In short, it’s basically done with the same technique that was used knitting the Mixed Wave Cowl. Since the knitting gets wider as you progress, it’s also necessary to make the sections wider (i.e. I started with a width of 10 and ended with a width of 20 stitches).
