Notes

Debs is one of my former coworkers at the school back in England where I taught for two years. I made a scarf for her. Late last year I learned she’s pregnant! She is expecting the child soon, so I quickly made my very first blanket for her. (Well, for the kid.)

The pattern was great, once I figured out what was going on. There are a few parts that are confusing the first time through. Then you get used to it, and while 20 (10, really, since half are garter) rows per repeat sounds exhausting, it’s manageable.

The multicoloured yarn obscures the chalice pattern. If I do this again I might break down and try a solid. Nevertheless, the lace combined with striping effect is pretty nice.

Do not buy this yarn again. Beautiful and soft, but it is wound in such a way that it comes off in hanks and needs to be untangled and rewound. Such a waste of time.

Measurements after blocking: 50 x 122 cm. Next time should use a looser bind-off method to match the looseness of my long-tail cast-on.
