I was given the task of duplicating a 32-year-old Christmas Stocking in order to make a matching set. The original stocking belongs to Jonathan. This one is for his wife, Lindsay. I was thrilled to find the pattern to save me the time and effort of reverse engineering the stocking and charting the intarsia from scratch. I made a few minor changes to the pattern in order to more exactly match what had been done by the knitter that made Jonathan’s stocking in 1988. (I’m sure no one would ever notice them unless I pointed them out.) I wish I had been able to match the original colors a little better, but over all I am pleased with the result.

The half yard of Tea Leaf green was split into two 2-ply lengths and used to embroider the year on the heel.
