I have always liked mushrooms. Many years ago, I worked for a mushroom scientist and grower in Santa Cruz, California. I frequently use them in cooking.

Since these coasters are half the size of potholders, I got a lot of good practice on the more challenging (to me) parts of double knitting. Namely, the set-up row and the bind-off.

I made a set of 6, so the amounts of yarn used (above) is for SIX coasters.

Enjoyable knitting and very satisfied with the results.

12/15/13: Gifted to Myra and Jerry on our visit to their new home in Las Cruces. Their kitchen decor includes brown, wine & grapes motif. Now I want to knit Sue’s grapes and vines pot holder!
