Notes

I loved this M.C. Escher evocative design, fish & waves - from the moment I saw it on Sue Gregori’s website. I used traditional Dutch colors - blue, white, and orange.

This pot holder is triple thickness in the center square and one of the sides. Could perhaps make it double by using 2 separate whites and not carrying the white across the middle… I’m not sure. I began by not carrying the orange into the side but it seemed to go wrong somehow when I did that. My interpretation of the pattern is that orange is carried on one side.

Note the difference between both sides of the pot holder. One side creates a distinct center square. The other side, that square is less distinct, because the blue fish merge into the blue waves.

If I were to make it again, I would have the fish swimming sideways, not up and down.

6/1/14: Gifted to our fisherman neighbor at Cascade Meadows RV Park. He gave us 6 trout he caught, from between 1/2 lb to 3/4 lb each. Yummy!
