  • I wish designers would specify which cast-on they want you to use when it makes a difference to the FO.
  • For the pocket trims, long-tail cast-on should be used so that the garter trims have the same look on either end. If you use the cable cast-on as I did, they will not match and because they sit on an angle, the top of one pocket will match the bottom of the other pocket and vice versa. I had already seamed them before i noticed and i am not ripping back but truly, it should be explicitly stated in the directions. In the US, the long-tail cast-on may be the most commonly used one but that is not the case all over the world.
  • Other than that, I love this pattern. Really fun to knit.
  • As for finishing, i am pretty good at vertical and horizontal mattress stitch. I am even not bad at setting in a sleeve. I am proud of having learned to do regular rectangular pockets (like in Atelier and Igloo) really well. But THESE pockets…. well, ….the yarn isn’t helping. It is so darn smooth and gorgeous. It doesnt want to do anything but be a happy little knit stitch surrounded by a bunch of other happy knit stitches. I need to do a lovely basic stockinette sweater with this yarn.
