21/04/14: Making bust size 40 with smaller needles than suggested.
4mm swatch:
Pre-washing: 20 st to 4”
Post-washing: 18 st to 4”
3.75mm swatch:
Pre-washing: 21.5 st to 4”
Post-washing: 20.5 st to 4”
3.5mm swatch: (We have a winner!)
Pre-washing: 23 st to 4”
Post-washing: 22.5 st to 4”
Going with 3.25mm for bottom ribbing and 3.5mm for the body. If bottom ribbing is a bit loose, I’ll go with 3mm for the neckline ribbing so that it holds its shape better.
Now I just need to pray to Ysolda, goddess of swatching, hoping I’ve still got enough yarn for the whole project with three swatches! (I did get a spare ball, should be fine)
12/05/14: Now about halfway done the bust increases. Confirmed with Susan Crawford that in the in-the-round version, you do not cast off the front neckline stitches, just put them on stitch markers.
22/05/14: All bust increases done and started on the right front.
10/09/14: Project was put aside for much of the summer, but I’m now almost done with the back.
04/02/15: Re-discovered the bag for this project and cast on sleeve 1 last night in the round. As I’m knitting in the round, according to yarndoggie, I should be able to knit in the round until the initial bind off for the sleeve cap.
06/02/15: Sleeve 1 done.
21/03/15: Poor long suffering project…. Half of second sleeve done today. Just getting too distracted by other projects.
Notes:
Sleeves: Done in the round. Increase 2 per inc round at the 2nd stitch and 2nd last of the round with a kfb. Split and work flat from the first cast-off stitches.
02/03/17: Pattern is full of mistakes, but I’ve finished it. Just need to mattress stitch the sleeves in when i find a moment. Personal mods means it will fit like a glove :)
Neckline:
Consider a crochet edging on the inside of the ribbing to steady the neckline. See the photos from this entry for details:

01/09/18: Believe it or not, it’s taken me this long to sew the sleeves in. Final blocking in progress!
