NOTE ON THE YARN: This stuff sheds!!!
Also, this is my first sweater! For all its problems, I’m still proud of it!
My stitch gauge is larger than what the pattern calls for, but my row gauge is smaller so the sweater is a bit funky. I didn’t start accounting for length until I started doing the waist increases.
Some mods:
- Added extra waist increases because I was worried about the sweater not covering my tum!
- Spaced my arm decreases out so they were about an inch apart. Left off the final decrease row.
- Cuffs knit to 4 1/2 inches.
- Picked up stitches for collar as stated in directions, even with my wacky row count.
3/21 - Eh, the wash ‘n’ block didn’t do much for the shedding so today I ordered The Gleener. We’ll see what that does when it gets here. Otherwise I consider the sweater done with only a so-so rating. It fits nicely, is very warm and comfortable, but the shedding is very overwhelming.
3/17 - I didn’t want to wait to wear the sweater so I wore it with out washing it, and that was a mistake. The yarn sheds SO MUCH. I finally got around to the wash today, so we’ll see if that clears things up. If it doesn’t the whole sweater might be a flop as the blue fluff from the sweater got EVERYWHERE when I wore it.
2/25 - Finished the belt! Now it just needs a little wash and light blocking! I think I still consider yesterday the finish date though.
2/24 - Bound off collar!
2/10 - Bound off the second sleeve while watching My Fair Lady tonight!
2/4 - Bound off the first sleeve this morning!
1/14 - Bound off the hem tonight! Tomorrow I’m going to spend some serious time weaving in ends, maybe snap a couple pics, maybe start a sleeve!
